Selection Process

  1. Initial Review: All applications will be screened for eligibility and completeness. Only complete applications that meet the eligibility criteria will be passed to the review stage.
  2. Expert Panel Review: A panel of experts in multilingual translation, AI/ML, and language technology will evaluate the proposals. The panel will assess the innovation, feasibility, and impact of the proposed projects.
  3. Interviews: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews where they will present their project proposal to the panel.
  4. Final Decision: The final selection will be based on the technical merits of the project, the applicant’s qualifications, and the potential for global impact through multilingual language technology.

Conclusion

The Wenjibra Global Language Technology Fellowship offers applied linguists, AI experts, and computational linguists the chance to develop multilingual language systems that address global linguistic challenges. Fellows will create innovative language tools and contribute to cross-linguistic research that promotes language diversity, equity, and accessibility in the digital world.
